6月 「心の庭」

Letter June "garden of the heart"

― 今月の大阿闍梨のひと言 ―

塩沼亮潤 「寄りそう心」より

If you look at the plants in the precincts, they will appear to shine even more.

The summer solstice, when the power of the sun is at its peak, is approaching, and it is also the rainy season.

The drizzling rain is the water of life for plants. The roots in the ground are moistened and the flowers bloom.

The scenery that pleases the eyes of everyone who visits Jigenji Temple is beautiful only when it rains.

It is said that old monks created gardens as an expression of their enlightenment.

Maintaining a beautiful garden requires maintenance. In addition to weeding, pruning is necessary to cut off overgrown branches and leaves.

If we translate this story of the garden into our inner world, even if we approach enlightenment, if we do not make the effort, we will soon fall back down again.

Life, life is a bottom. Do not forget this heart.
