11月 ～トンボに負けてはいられない～

Letter November　～You can't let the dragonflies beat you.～

田んぼの周辺でよく見かける赤トンボ。

古くから日本人に愛され、童謡にも歌われている赤トンボは、11月に入っても寒さに負けずに空を飛び、

短い一生を、精一杯生きています。

The red dragonflies often seen around rice paddies.

Beloved by the Japanese since ancient times and even sung about in nursery rhymes, these red dragonflies fly through the sky undaunted by the cold even after November arrives,

living their short lives to the fullest.

人間もトンボに負けてはいられません。「つらい、しんどい」なんていっていられません。

努力できるうちに努力して、生きられるだけ清く正しく生きようと思います。

やがてすぐにあの世に飛び立つ日がやってくるのですから。

Humans can't afford to lose to dragonflies. We can't afford to say things like “It's tough, it's hard.”

While we still can, we must strive to live as pure and upright as possible.

For the day will soon come when we too must take flight to the next world.
