Letter September "Bamboo Spring"
「竹の春」といえば、この時季の季語です。
秋に春という言葉を耳にするのはなんとも不思議な感じがしますが、筍として成長した若竹もすくすくと育ち、親竹も青さを取り戻すことから、竹の春という言葉が生まれたそうです。
「現存する日本最古の物語」ともいわれる『竹取物語』で、竹の中から生まれたかぐや姫が月の都に帰っていったのは中秋の名月でした。
今年は9月29日ですね。月の光を受けて闇に輝く竹の若葉もかぐや姫の如く、さぞかし美しいことでしょう。

ひとたび生を受けたら、誰しもあの世に行く定め。
しかし、この大自然にいだかれ、この宇宙につつまれて、おのおのがいかようにも生きることができる、そんな人生において、正しき道を歩み、生きる喜びを味わうこと、そして私たちが正しき道を歩んでいく姿を子どもたちが心で感じ、今度は子どもたちが歩いていくのを、信頼の絆のもとに見守ってあげること。
それが私たちが次世代の人に残すことができる財産ではなかろうかと思います。

"Bamboo Spring'' is the seasonal word for this season.
It seems strange to hear the word "spring" in autumn, but the word "bamboo spring" was born because the young bamboo shoots that grew as bamboo shoots grow rapidly, and the parent bamboo regains its green color.
In "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter'', which is said to be "Japan's oldest surviving story,'' it was during the harvest moon that Princess Kaguya was born from a bamboo and returned to the Moon Capital.
This year it's September 29th. The young bamboo leaves shining in the darkness under the moonlight are truly beautiful, just like Princess Kaguya.

Once born, everyone is destined to go to the next world.
However, being surrounded by this great nature and surrounded by this universe, each of us can live however we want. In such a life, we need to walk the right path and enjoy the joy of living, and our children can feel in their hearts that we are walking down the right path, and in turn, we can watch our children walk down the right path through bonds of trust. I will watch over you.
I believe this is the legacy we can leave to the next generation.
