木の葉が色をまとう「色取月（いろどりづき）」。
ぱっと目をひく華やかな黄色から、燃え立つ紅色、やわらかなオレンジと、木々によって、また、その年の気候によって色合いも変わりますから、紅葉も一期一会ですね。県内屈指の名瀑として知られる秋保大滝もこれから銀杏、もみじ、楓が鮮やかに色づき、訪れる人の目を楽しませることでしょう。車を走らせれば、名もなき山道で息をのむほど美しい紅葉の風景と出合うこともあり、思わぬ贈り物に胸ときめく秋です。
