4月 「自分が一本の木であるとしたら」

Letter 　April　“If I were a single tree.”

自然豊かな秋保を旅すると、風が運んでくれる四季の香りを感じていただけるでしょう。

春の木々を彩る、若葉輝く季節。

そのきらめきをイメージして、お香をつくりました。

遠く離れていても、香りで慈眼寺を思い出していただけますよう。

When you travel through the nature-rich Akiu, you will be able to feel the scents of the four seasons carried by the wind.

A season where young leaves shine, coloring the trees of spring.

Imagining that sparkle, we created this incense.

Even if you are far away, we hope the fragrance helps you remember Jigenji Temple.

雨や風は自分に何を教えてくれるのか、少し足を止めて考えてみると、

自分が一本の木であるとしたら、

ただ天に向かって真っ直ぐに伸び、風は自分を鍛え、雨は自分を潤し、太陽の光を受け、

ただ天に向かって真っ直ぐに成長するひたむきさ。

大きくなるにつれ、しっかりと根を下ろす木に考えさせられた。

― This Month's Word from the Great Ajari ―

If you pause for a moment and think about what the rain and wind are trying to teach you,

if you were a tree,

you would just grow straight toward the sky, with the wind strengthening you, the rain nourishing you, and receiving the sunlight,

a single-mindedness to grow straight toward the sky.

As it grows larger, it made me reflect on trees that firmly take root.
